Who does not like those crispy, mysterious and delicious rolls ? However, it is interesting to see how often we think that those things are so difficult to do at home. But guess what, this recipe will sweep away all your doubts, and even with a little experience in the kitchen, you will be able o make those Nems in a few minutes.

For those who are not aware yet, here we are talking about Nems, also called crispy spring rolls, which are a delicious dish with Vietnamese origins, used as a starter in Europe.

We decided to give you the best and easiest Nems recipe we know, as we love it so much, and it fits to a histamine-free, dairy-free and gluten-free diet.

For this recipe, you will need : rice paper, filling of your choice (ground meat, chicken or whatever you like that fits to your own diet), one onion, two carrots glass noodles, gluten-free soya sauce, eggs, and parsley.

This recipe will be the perfect starter that will let your guests speechless if you host a dinner.

Nems with Rice Paper

If you want to prepare Nems a day ahead, you can freeze them until you fry them.

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Put Rice noodle in a bowl and let them soak in lukewarm water for 10 minutes.
  2. In the meanwhile, grate the Carrots, cut the Chicken, Parseley and Onion in small pieces.
  3. Cut Glass noodles with the scissor in small pieces and mix all ingredients with the glass noodles and the egg.
  4. For each Nems, take one rice paper, soak it in water until it is soft, lay it on paper towels to dry and dab the surface until dry, ca. 20 seconds.
  5. Take Rice Paper slowly off from the paper towels and put it on your kitchen surface or a plate. Place one tablespoon of the filling into the center of the softened rice paper. Fold the bottom edge into the center, covering the filling. Fold in the right and then the left edge and roll up tightly. Repeat with remaining rice paper wrappers, soaking and filling each one individually.
  6. Fry the Nems in 400 ml of oil (the Nems will only soak up around 50ml in total) until the Nems are golden brown.
